Hail the Hammer

Well were only 8 weeks or so to the big HF4, so it would prudent to start spanking some more Talent in and letting you know what we’ve got lined up for the Thursday night pre party.

Thursday will be kicking off in the Vic with a UK trio of fresh Talent, namely Perpetuate,One More Victim and Flame Fracture.

The main frame will be a trip of Metal Nostalgia, which will call upon the talents from the vaults of Black Rose,Pagans Altar,Blitzkreig and after the response at HRH, we had to get The Sanity Days back in and give us that original Onslaught sound once more. Well also finish the night with a bit of fun like we did last year, but this years will be with Dirty DC.

Friday sees three more additions, namely Irish legends Waylander, Americas new boys Diamond Plate and by demand HF favs Ravenface…..Lastly three more for the Metal Forge of raw talent…bring on Elimination, Drip Back and Lets Play God…..

Looks like HF4 accommodation will totally sell out sometime this week, so stay tuned and if you haven’t booked..then I’d strongly advise to ring immediately…day passes are under a 100 now, so with that in mind, Id say its all pretty much in the bag…..Slots will be up 4 weeks prior as usual and we will be doing an Unplugged stage as well as a surprise chalet party..all going off at HF4…..couple of slots left but, heh, anything can happen

Viking Metal Mayhem reaches Hammerfest IV

Further to recent speculation, we can now confirm that the mighty Amon Amarth will be tearing apart Hammerfest on main stage, Saturday night. With the Hammer of Thor being the theme for March, its only too right we make sure that these Viking Gods grace the stage and do what they do best……tear yer heads off!!!

Joining them will be German power Metallers….Wizard…who will be concocting their own set of Norse Mythology just to stay in line with AA. And just to add a curve ball, we have The Painted Smiles joining us , led by ex Six Th frontman, Mikee Goodman.

Last weekend saw the finals of Highway to Hell 2 produced 6 New Blood bands for HF IV, Overall winners were Gentleman of Distorted Sound, with will earned coveted slots going to Trucker Diablo, Kyrbgrinder, Savage Outlaw, Spirytus and Inferno for good measure. HTH2 had over 1000 bands apply and these finalist slots were selected from a final 24 play off in Glasgow’s Classic Grand last weekend.

American Thrashers go head to head at Hammerfest IV

Well, well, well, ..If it wasn’t enough to get Anthrax slamming their sound n couture all over Friday night, we now see them going head to head with American Thrash lords…Exodus..who now take centre stage for a double Thrash header which should blow the place to smithereens ….HF4 just seems to go on an all out… line up of destruction and seeing American Thrash Legends Exodus going on full assault with their Thrashtastic brothers only seems to sum up what’s going down at this years Hammerfest.

On to this announcement we see  us adding…. a Phoenix USA debut for Chemicals of Democracy, who Jonni’s new Rock agency Chic Talent, have been rigorously scouting out over the last 3 months, and now bring forward to their first UK performance albeit in front of the HRH / HF loyal. Joining them we have HF fav’s Arthemis and Scottish blood metalers Archen…all in all..another ballsy addition to an already incredible line up for HF 4.

Well, after our last few announcements, people will start to see the new sound n talent were looking at for HF4. First new addition has been popular with the HF “oathsworn” and its with the usual HF pleasure we welcome the multi talented Hell to the front ranks. Joining them after a recent debut, we had to ask back the incredible show of Evil Scarecrow who will be throwing everything at The Fridays special sounds stage.

Local Welsh nutters Anterior are now recruited and have promised blood on their soil with their own special killer performance. From the Old Skool Thrash ranks, we’ve brought back two classics with that indigenous sound..We are so honoured to have Holosade and Virus charge our Sat night’s Thrash classic stage. Pure 80’s Thrash nostalgia at its best….

Lastly, after some very visual and special performances we also welcome “Hammer of the Gods”, after their recent shows n tours…not Viking..but full of battle blood, , we just couldn’t say no

Following an incredible European rout of everything musical, 2011 has seen Skindreds career catapult them into the premiership and up their capacities round the globe. Its with great pleasure Benji and the boys take the Saturday night throne at Hammerfest 4 and do what they do best….blow yer face off with an onslaught of their self styled ragga metal. Skindred fans can expect a headline set from hell with a few surprises thrown in, just to rock the foundations of Prestatyn that bit more.

Making their HF debut, are Heavens Basement, who are no strangers to the scene but are well up for leading the charge on the special sounds stage on Friday. After a gruelling 3 years of non stop touring, we felt it was right for them to join the HF ranks and give it to us full throttle.

Hammerfest IV…runic metal mayhem launches its first 5

….Since the discovery of the multiple rune stones on the Northern shores of Norway, it has always been hard to believe the true meaning of that ancient runic inscription that marks out very clearly the birth of Hammerfest. To some it’s a town in Norway to the deeper readers, its origin is a Metal Valhalla.

The Runes tell of the early days of Hammerfest’s creation, as it was cast by the norns on that fateful day at the well of Urur ( well of fate) 3 years past. Make no mistake, this tale is not one spun lightly by neither the norns themselves nor the Volva faces of their dark seidr metal masters. Quite possibly the Alfather has had his say as has the rest of the Norse Gods at Asgard, but one fact is for sure…when the Valkyries, ..our dark angels of death…march and lead the HF “Oathsworn” to the next gathering for our metal thing !...so will commence a sonic battle like none staged from this ancient world…..we can also be sure that when Mjolnir..Thor’s supernatural Hammer… casts the first drum and brings every Metal Berserker from the oathsworn into this dark metal hall for 120 decibels of pure FKN Heavy Metal at its best….then the human shield wall will be up and the heads of hair will be flying………. From every distant land on the Norse Whale road…we will witness a holmgang of bands who will ignite the sacred flame and commence Hammerfest IV………The Hammer of Thor…Loud as FK!!...Masters of Metal…..

Leading the charge will be none other than NYC's Metal Legends......Anthrax who will be doing a special classics set as well as some super cuts from the forthcoming new album which is something of a nugget.

On the flank we have the UK dealers of Doom, ,...Paradise Lost who just seem to be growing year on year and will be doing what they do best at HF

On a rare trip, we also welcome NWOAHM…Chimaira who drop in from the US to dish out a selection of their notable metal grooves.

Another UK classic band who will be doing 3 decades of their own special Thrash are now back on the scene and it's with pride that Lawnmower Deth take the ranks in a line up that will rock the very foundations of Prestatyn.

Finally Manchesters Fury UK take up the rear in this first Hogs Snout of shields to call to arms the full HF " Oathsworn"....
